Sustainable Development Goals
Inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015, the crystallised SDG pin is both a beautiful accessory and an urgent call to action. From addressing poverty, inequality, and climate change, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals serve as a shared blueprint for achieving a more sustainable and equitable world for all by 2030.
The pin in the shape of the SDGs colour wheel features selected Swarovski ReCreated™ Crystals and is mounted on a recycled metal base. Crafted in collaboration with the United Nations, 85% of the purchase price of all pins sold at the Swarovski flagship store in New York will be donated to the Swarovski Foundation’s mission driving progress towards achievement of the SDGs. The pin is packaged in 100% FSC-certified recycled paper.
The pin is currently exclusively available at our New York flagship store, Swarovski on Fifth, and in the United Nations Bookshop at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
About the SDGs
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, are a set of 17 interlinked targets set by the United Nations’ General Assembly in 2015.
Addressing global challenges as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030, all people enjoy peace and prosperity. They are a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all of us.
A lasting partnership
Since 2018, the Swarovski Foundation has committed to aligning our partnerships and initiatives with the SDGs. They guide our strategy, shape our objectives, and drive our efforts to create meaningful and positive impact around the world.
The Swarovski Foundation has identified three SDGs that most align with our mission to promote sustainable livelihoods through education to reduce inequality.
They are:
These goals are embedded across our three strategic focus areas equally and underpin every aspect of our work.
To advance these three goals, we collaborate with charitable organisations (SDG 17), who use formal, non-formal and informal educational approaches (SDG 4) to enhance opportunities for individuals, empowering them to pursue sustainable livelihoods (SDG 8), and address enduring inequalities. And, fundamentally, to create lasting change.
