Every month, an estimated 862 million people volunteer to strengthen their communities— a reminder of the power of collective action (United Nations Volunteers). Today, on International Volunteer Day, we mark that spirit across the organisation and highlight how colleagues worldwide continue to support the next generation in learning, creating, and thriving.

In Warsaw and Gdańsk, the Swarovski Foundation led a week of learning and engagement activities in partnership with local educators and community organisations to bring creative, purpose-led programming into schools. Colleagues introduced students to philanthropy and the many ways individuals and companies can drive positive change. The week included a pilot workshop featuring the Swarovski Foundation Creatives for Our Future initiative, led by alumna Agnieszka Doczyńska, who guided students through a hands-on exercise exploring creativity as a tool for sustainability and social innovation. Students also explored global water challenges through the Waterschool curriculum, sparking thoughtful discussion on conservation, access, and the importance of protecting natural resources.
To deepen these exchanges, Swarovski teams from Poland, Malaysia, and Costa Rica connected for a hybrid session reflecting on how volunteering strengthens communities. The conversation underscored how our colleagues around the world can contribute to meaningful and long-lasting impact.

In the UK, the focus this year was on supporting young people as they navigate the transition from school to employment. In 2024, an estimated 987,000 young people aged 16–24 were not in education, employment, or training, representing around 13.4% of this age group (Office for National Statistics). In October, the Swarovski London office welcomed a group of young people for a dynamic day, facilitated by the Swarovski Foundation charity partner, ThinkForward. ThinkForward supports young people facing challenges on their path to success, providing a programme of one-to-one coaching, work insight days, and transition workshops to help them prepare for the future. Through icebreakers, speed networking, and a creative workshop centred on sustainability, volunteers from Swarovski, Tyrolit, and the Swarovski Foundation offered insights into their career journeys, what it means to work within a global company, and how purpose and creativity intersect in their day-to-day roles.

Across all locations, one theme stood out: the dedication and enthusiasm of Swarovski colleagues who continue to show up for their communities. Whether sharing professional insights, facilitating hands-on learning, mentoring young people, or contributing to global conversations on sustainability, volunteers play an essential role in advancing the mission of the Swarovski Foundation and bringing our shared values to life.
Thank you to every colleague who gave their time and expertise. Your generosity makes a meaningful difference and strengthens our collective impact worldwide.
