The Swarovski Foundation was incorporated in 2013 to pursue charitable goals to honor the philanthropic spirit of Daniel Swarovski, who founded the crystal business in 1895. Since then, five generations of the Swarovski family have reinforced the company's commitment to philanthropy and charitable giving. The Foundation's mission is to build on this heritage by supporting charitable initiatives and organizations working in three areas of supporting culture and creativity, promoting wellbeing and conserving natural resources.

The Foundation is governed by an external Board of Trustees. Chaired by Nadja Swarovski, its members are international experts from key fields including human rights, economics, law, and journalism. They are tasked with ensuring that the mission of the Foundation is accomplished through the support of initiatives and partnerships within the three pillars.

The Foundation shows a deep commitment to advancing the preservation of our cultural heritage and the encouragement of creativity in the arts by supporting educational, artistic and cultural institutions dedicated to excellence in design and through the support of education in the fields of fashion and jewelry design.

The Foundation's focus within its wellbeing pillar includes the empowerment of women and education. Specifically, the Foundation works with organizations that tackle the challenges facing women around the world with innovative programs, which enable them to fulfill their potential. In education, the Foundation seeks to engage with organizations that employ new approaches to improving the overall quality of the learning experience for young people.

Finally, the conserving natural resources pillar aims to support organizations with environmental projects promoting conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.
